London’s Nine Lives offers nootropic menu
By Lauren BowesNine Lives, a subterranean cocktail bar in London’s Bermondsey, has created Noobies, a non-alcoholic menu that uses nootropic ingredients.

These ingredients are claimed to enhance mood and cognitive function while ‘combatting the January blues’.
The menu, created by general manager William Campbell-Rowntree and the Nine Lives team, will run throughout January. It encourages guests to choose cocktails by mood, such as relaxation, creativity, joy or optimism.
Drinks include Meadowsweet, which is meant to bring happiness and blends Three Spirit Nightcap, meadowsweet and Seasn Dark.
To bring healing, Uncle Phyl mixes chlorophyll, pineapple, lime and Intune’s Elderflower & Hops CBD drink. Meanwhile, CB-Daisy is for those seeking to become more social, blending Martini Floreale, passionfruit, rooibos, lemon and CBD.
Alongside the Noobies menu, guests can enjoy food created by head chef Ramon ‘El Tigre’ Ramos, who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico. Highlights include chicharron double-cooked pork belly with salsa verde and red onion, aguachile lime-cured prawns with salsa verde, and signature tacos like beef barbacoa with slow-cooked beef brisket, onions, and coriander.
Nine Lives is led by Allan Gage and Emma Hutchison of global drinks agency Sweet&Chilli, which this year marked its 21st birthday by launching an incubator programme.
