Garrison Brothers raises $75,000 for veterans

The annual Red, White & Bourbon event at Garrison Brothers Distillery has raised more than US$75,000 for the National Museum of the Pacific War.

Each year, Garrison Brothers invites guests to dip their own bottles in limited red, white and blue wax

Garrison Brothers Distillery held its seventh annual Red, White, and Bourbon fundraiser on 9 November, raising thousands of dollars for Admiral Nimitz Foundation’s National Museum of the Pacific War, the nation’s most comprehensive account of the Second World War in the Asiatic-Pacific. The Texas-based distillery holds the fundraiser on the Saturday before Veterans Day (11 November), with more than 500 guests attending this year’s event.

“Recognising our veterans and war heroes is in the DNA of Garrison Brothers and we could not be prouder to support the National Museum of the Pacific War right here in our backyard, in Fredericksburg,” founder Dan Garrison said. “Red, White & Bourbon is more than just a fundraiser, it is a tribute to American history, service, and community.”

The event featured both live and silent auctions. Action items included a Garrison Brothers Hurricane Tough bottle and two exclusive cask-strength Bourbon tastings with distiller Samantha Olvera. Also auctioned were one-of-a-kind hand-painted barrels by local artists including Katy Hardin’s Garrison Brothers Cowboy & Bourbon, Shelly Floyd’s Wildflower and Laura Clay’s Texas Spirit.

The event featured live music, local food, and craft cocktails. Each year, attendees are invited to wax dip their own bottles of Garrison Brothers Small Batch Bourbon in a limited edition red, white and blue wax.

The funds raised will be used by the foundation to create a comprehensive educational hub including a professional audio/visual studio, online educational portal, and learning centre.

“We are very fortunate to have friends, neighbours and patriots like Dan and Nancy Garrison. The support of the entire Garrison Distillery team means a great deal to the family of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation and National Museum of the Pacific War,” retired US army brigadier general Steve Salazar said. “Without the support of great Americans like Dan and Nancy, we would not be able to accomplish our important mission.”

This isn’t the first time Garrison Brothers Distillery has raised money for a good cause. Back in 2020, the distillery pooled US$396,181 to support Covid-19 recovery.
