Dram Team kit brings Scotch tours to US
Miniature tasting set specialist The Dram Team has unveiled a luxury gift kit that ‘recreates the magic’ of a Scotch whisky distillery tour for US consumers.
Via 15 premium and super-premium Scotch whisky miniatures, the set attempts to emulate a Scottish distillery tour. The experience is brought to life with an artistic, Saltire-inspired distillery map and an illustrated and educational Distillery Guidebook.
The launch of the Scotch Whisky Tasting Map marks The Dram Team’s first foray into the US direct-to-consumer market, with shipping available to 40 states. It is also available in the UK.
“My goal was to create a tasting set that did justice to the unbeatable experience of touring Scottish whisky distilleries,” explained The Dram Team founder Chris Borrow Holden-Boyd. “From the friendly and informative tour guides to the fascinating history, impressive distillery sights and beautiful locations, we’ve captured it all to give drinkers a luxurious tasting experience that transports them to Scotland.”
“While a lot of love and attention was poured into the map and guidebook artwork, the main event still has to be the whisky, and we’re proud to feature an array of releases that showcase the very best of Scotch.”
Limited to 165 sets, the first edition of the Scotch Whisky Tasting Map showcases a selection of single malts from each of the Scotch whisky regions, with the typical values of the whiskies sampled ranging from £70 to £260 (US$89-$329) per 700ml bottle.
The line-up features notable distillery age statements such as Tomatin 18-year-old and Benromach 21-year-old, and single cask releases from independent bottlers, such as Gleann Mòr Spirits’ Rare Find Glenallachie 14-year-old, and Dramfool’s Red Bag #2, a 17-year-old Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery.
Each set includes 15 50ml whisky samples, two Glencairn tasting glasses, an 80-page illustrated Distillery Guidebook and an A2 Tasting Map poster displayed in a matte black, gold-embossed luxury gift box.
The Dram Team Scotch Whisky Tasting Map is priced at £295 in the UK and $399 for US customers.
Christmas order cut-offs are 26 November for US delivery and 18 December for UK delivery.
The set is available online via www.thedramteam.co.uk and from select UK retailers, with wholesale pricing available to interested trade buyers upon request.
The Dram Team plans to roll out further international delivery options, including select EU destinations, in the coming weeks.
