Young Spirits names new managing director
By Melita KielyScottish bottler Young Spirits has promoted Barbara Russell Scott to the position of managing director.

Russell Scott joined Young Spirits in 2023 as director of operations.
“I’m committed to building on the business’s success, delivering strong results, and driving positive growth for the future,” Russell Scott said.
Russell Scott brings more than 30 years’ experience in supply chain and operations management in the global drinks industry to the role.
As managing director, she will focus on building the business’s team, and strengthening core qualities across the company, including operational and customer service excellence, sustainability and innovation.
Alex Harrison and John Ferguson founded Young Spirits in 2019. The company specialises in new product development and branding projects for clients.
Furthermore, the firm has its own brands, including Ferg & Harris single malt, and Uhuru, which donates 10% of profits to African-driven conservation efforts in partnership with charity Tusk.
Harrison, Young Spirits co-founder, commented: “Barbara has been a huge asset to our team in the last couple of years and we are thrilled that she will be taking on this new role at such an exciting stage in Young Spirits’ development.
“We are confident that her strong leadership skillset and strategic vision will help us take our fast-evolving business to the next level.”
