Bacardi donates $100,000 to hurricane relief
Grey Goose owner Bacardi has committed US$100,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief following the impact of Hurricanes Milton and Helene in the southeast of the US.

The family-owned company has also pledged to provide 3,000 bottles of water and other goods to relief efforts.
Florida was particularly affected by both hurricanes, with the firm calling the state ‘a Bacardi community since 1964’, when the Bacardí family left Cuba. Since 2009, the North America regional business has been based in the Floridian city of Coral Gables, while the Bacardi Bottling Corporation has operated in Jacksonville for half a century.
The firm employs around 580 people in the state.
“We are fortunate our Bacardi people and business operations were spared from these hurricanes, however, we know that is not the case for everyone,” said Tony Latham, regional president of Bacardi North America. “We are here to support our communities and our neighbours and hope that these contributions, alongside that of many other companies and citizens, offer help, hope and comfort to those in greatest need.”
Around 2,100 Red Cross staff are currently providing aid in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee, offering more than 770,000 meals and snacks and 58,000 relief items.
“With Hurricane Milton following closely in Hurricane Helene’s wake, the American Red Cross is on the ground helping families recover from these vicious storms,” said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross. “We’re thankful to Bacardi for standing with us to provide help and hope as communities begin to navigate the long road to recovery.”
Earlier this year, we spoke to Bacardi CEO Mahesh Madhavan about steering the family-owned company through Covid-19 and into the future.
