The Indonesian island of Bali, known as ‘the island of gods’, is deeply rooted in traditions, cultural heritage, spiritualism and craftsmanship. For the Orang Tua Group and its Pt Asti Dama Adhimukti Distillery in Tabanan, no other name embodied the island’s cultural heritage like the meticulously crafted asymmetrical dagger, Keris, with its strength and beauty.
Like its inspiring heirloom, Keris Single Malt is made with only the best raw materials and extreme attention to detail. As it takes time to craft a timeless masterpiece, creating a whisky that honours tradition and resonates with modern consumers takes dedication. The pioneering milestone set by Keris as the first local single malt was celebrated with recognition from the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) in September 2024.
Made entirely in Indonesia, the gold-coloured whisky is crafted from 100% malted barley and aged in American oak barrels, followed by secondary maturation in oloroso Sherry casks. The inaugural release, Silver, is offered at 43% ABV. The smooth and complex single malt is driven by the flavour of vanilla, with a hint of berries and a lingering woody finish, presenting character way beyond its years.
The bottle has an elegant curve design that replicates the asymmetry of the Keris blade – depicted on the label embossed on fire, representing the spirit of the masters who made the whisky. The seal cap has a pattern of forged metal, fashioned to mimic the look of the handmade iron, nickel and meteorite blade.
Keris Single Malt lies at the crossroads where legacy meets craftsmanship. It is a journey through time, representing the Orang Tua Group’s latest innovation and commitment to quality Indonesian-made products.
