Buffalo Trace offers master distiller experience
Bourbon fans can enter a competition for the chance to win a day shadowing Buffalo Trace master distiller Harlen Wheatley.
In honour of National Bourbon Heritage Month, Buffalo Trace Distillery is offering one lucky fan the opportunity to to learn what it takes to be its master distiller.
The contest winner and one guest will receive a private, hands-on lesson on the heritage, craftsmanship, and production method used at Buffalo Trace from current master distiller Wheatley.
“If you are a Bourbon enthusiast, now is your chance to become an honorary member of the Buffalo Trace Distillery team during this rare opportunity,” Wheatley said. “While many of our fans know the history of Buffalo Trace Distillery and legacy of our award-winning whiskeys, they have never gone this far behind the scenes.”
In addition to a hands-on production experience with Wheatley, the winner will receive the following: a one-night stay at the Buffalo Trace Stagg Lodge, a private, VIP-only residence on distillery grounds that includes dinner prepared by the distillery’s private chef; the opportunity to taste the 2023 Buffalo Trace Prohibition Collection; transportation to accommodation; two US$100 gift cards to the Buffalo Trace gift shop, and more.
Legal-drinking-age consumers can enter until 30 September via the Buffalo Trace website. The winner will be randomly selected on 1 October and will be notified via phone and email. The experience, which will be scheduled for a later date determined based on the availability of the winner and Wheatley, must occur prior to 1 May 2025.
“I’m excited to share more about what it takes to make the world’s most award-winning whiskeys with a fan who is equally as passionate about this industry as we are at Buffalo Trace Distillery,” Wheatley said.
