Holy Brew opens in Wimbledon
Indo-Chinese restaurant Dalchini in London’s Wimbledon has created a new speakeasy bar called Holy Brew.
Dalchini opened in 2000 and claims to be ‘the UK’s first authentic Indo-Chinese restaurant’.
Holy Brew is located within the restaurant behind a hidden door and is a ‘tribute to the ancient art of drink-making, inspired by Indian mythology and tradition’.
Parag Rane is the bar’s head mixologist, with Mihir Chorera as manager and senior bartender.
The menu includes cocktails such as the Parvati Potion, which blends gin, yuzu, vanilla orange bitters and cloves, inspired by ‘the fearsome powers of goddess Parvati’. Brahma’s Blood Moon consists of Cîroc pomegranate vodka, pomegranate molasses, Cointreau and lime, while Maya’s Mango combines Tequila, amchoor (dried mango powder) and Alphonso mango purée.
Holy Brew will also offer a wide range of premium spirits, the star of which is Rémy Martin’s Louis XIII Cognac. As well as Scotch and Irish whiskies, Indian and Japanese whiskies including Yamazaki Distillers Reserve and Amrut will feature on the menu.
The bar will also serve snacks reminiscent of Dalchini’s menu, including crispy baby corn with togarashi dust and pulled curry lamb with paratha.
The decor features rich tapestries, ornate furnishings, and dim lighting, creating an ‘intimate and immersive experience’.
