The Spirit Business published The Brand Champions 2024 report this month (June). The annual supplement offers in-depth analysis of the world’s million-case-selling brands.

Teremana Tequila, co-founded by Johnson, Jenna Fagnan, Dany Garcia and Ken Austin, grew from 0.9 million nine-litre cases in 2022 to 1.0m in 2023, a 17.7% increase.

In April this year, the Tequila brand’s CEO said the Teremana distillery was expanding to meet increasing demand, and to keep up with its international expansion plans. The Tequila landed in the UK this month (June).

There were several new million-case-selling brands that joined The Brand Champions 2024, including Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola. The ready-to-drink (RTD) can debuted in Mexico in 2022, before expanding to Great Britain and other parts of Europe in 2023.

As The Spirits Business reported earlier this year, Lunazul Tequila, owned by Heaven Hill Brands, also passed the one-million-case mark last year following a 31.8% sales increase.

Global Beverage Trade’s Aznauri Brandy reported 89.5% growth in 2023 to reach 1.1m cases, up from 0.6m in 2022.

Diageo’s Tekirdag Raki also passed the million-case threshold for the first time after a 12.9% growth spurt in 2023. Last year, the raki sold 1.1m cases.

Barrister gin by Ladoga also sold 1.1m cases in 2023, up by 57.1% compared with 2022.

Radico Khaitan’s 1965 Spirit of Victory rum brand also made its debut with 1.2m cases sold in 2023, a 31.8% increase on the previous year.

Iconiq White Whisky from Allied Blenders & Distillers also reached the Brand Champions threshold after selling 1.6m cases in 2023.
