Palmaráe Gin: spirit of the oasis

Launching this summer, Palmaráe Gin Premier Cru is a masterpiece of the senses; a unique fusion of cultures that pairs timeless French technique with rich and diverse botanicals from Marrakech.

The beautiful Moroccan Palmeraie is a far‐reaching palm grove of 100,000 trees, a peaceful haven away from Marrakech’s twinkling lights and bustling bazaars. This place of tranquillity inspired long‐time friends and entrepreneurs Olly Horner and Livio Bisterzo to encapsulate ‘the spirit of the oasis’ in a bottle.

Their journey took the duo to France, where they joined forces with master distiller Miko Abouaf, the owner of Audemus Spirits. Together, they envisioned a ‘new‐to‐world’ gin – an ultra-premium premier cru, wheat spirit distilled at the heart of Cognac, and infused with Marrakech‐born botanicals.

Made with orange blossom, mandarin, fresh Moroccan mint, mature Medjool dates, and Fleur de Sel de Marrakech sourced from small batch artisanal suppliers, Palmaráe combines French vacuum and copper pot still distillation with authentic North African flavours.

A premium experience

Palmaráe Gin Premier Cru is distilled at Distillerie de la Tour, and stands out with its golden hue derived from mature dates. The gin is encased in a luxurious cream ceramic bottle, inspired by ultra‐premium Tequila, and it pays homage to its palm tree‐surrounded spiritual home. Perfectly smooth to sip over ice, Palmaráe elevates and enhances the gin category.

The ultra‐premium gin is offered at 44% ABV, and will be initially launched in the UK, focusing on London, followed by Marrakech and across the Côte D’Azur region of France.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of Palmaráe this summer,” says Horner, CEO of Palmaráe, who has dedicated the past 12 months to the creation of the brand. “The continued rise in consumer demand for premium spirits has inspired us to experiment with new and exciting botanicals with unique flavour profiles, which we believe will resonate with adventurous consumers looking for an elevated experience.”

Abouaf, master distiller, adds: “The distilling techniques perfected over generations in the Cognac region lay the foundation for unparalleled excellence. When harmonised with the exceptionally pure spirit and water and infused with the diverse botanicals sourced from Marrakech, the result is a distinctive and multifaceted liquid. I am confident this creation will be an exceptional addition to the premium gin category, offering a truly remarkable experience.”

Palmaráe Gin Premier Cru is now available from palmarae.com, Hedonism Wines, Hide, Maison Estelle, 1Hotel, Robuchon Group, Seabird, Louie and Gold, with further high‐end luxury listings in the trade and select luxury retailers to follow in the UK, Marrakech and Côte d’Azur.
