Lazy Dodo introduces fruity rums
Grays-owned Lazy Dodo rum has launched a collection of rums inspired by Mauritius’ signature flavours.
Officially launched on 13 June at an event in Creative Park in Beau Plan, in the Pamplemousses District of Mauritius, the three new flavours are Grapefruit & Litchi with Pepper, Passionfruit & Mango and Vanilla & Victoria Pineapple.
“Lazy Dodo is a rum full of tropical adventures, so we opted to diversify its recipes by drawing inspiration from the fruity flavours of our island,” said Florence de Coriolis, rum brand manager at Grays. “Lazy Dodo is a very creative and sunny brand. We therefore chose to highlight tastes linked to the Mauritian terroir and from our region.”
The new range is now available in Mauritius and will launch in selected European markets from September.
All three rums are bottled at 35% ABV and retail at €27 (US$29) for a 700ml bottle.
Lazy Dodo, launched in 2016, is a premium Mauritian single estate rum from New Grove distillery that celebrates the island’s extinct flightless bird.
Earlier this year, New Grove redesigned its namesake rum to spotlight the colourful heritage of Mauritius.
New Grove, meaning ‘renewal’, was established in 2003 by spirits distributor and producer Grays.
