Emilia Clarke joins Pegasus Distillerie
Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has joined French spirits producer Pegasus Distillerie as its global brand ambassador.
Based in France’s Burgundy region, Pegasus Distillerie has joined forces with the English actor as it expands its portfolio and launches internationally.
“Craftsmanship and human connection have always been of paramount importance to me,” said Clarke, who has also starred in films such as Me Before You and Last Christmas.
“As an actress, I pour my all into my craft, and Pegasus lends similar care and attention to detail into every bottle they produce. They create spirits in small batches prioritising the finest organic ingredients and hand-picked botanicals and citruses from the surrounding regions.”
The Terminator Genisys star called the distillery’s products “French luxury at its finest”, adding that they “elevate any moment celebrating with my friends and family”.
Pegasus, which produces gin, vodka and liqueurs, entered the US market in April 2024. To mark its US debut, the brand recently launched a limited edition meteorite-infused vodka, called Shooting Star.
The portfolio also includes Pegasus Vodka, made with French wheat and pure Meursault water; Orion Gin, a fusion of six botanicals from the Swiss Alps and citrus from the French Riviera; and Eau d’Or, a liqueur created with a 21st-century recipe that combines oranges, lemons, orange blossom and cane sugar.
The brand was founded in Meursault, France, in 2021 by master distiller Maxime Girardin, who also serves as CEO.
“I am so pleased to welcome Emilia Clarke to the Pegasus family,” said Girardin.
“In many ways I see her as an égérie, a muse – her elegance, stamina, and joie de vivre embody Pegasus’ core values and speak to the brand’s mission of savouring life to the fullest whilst creating lasting memories.
“We look forward to this partnership and to seeing all the collaborative ideas we have come to life to jointly sustain our momentum in creating premium innovative elixirs to be enjoyed in shared moments of wonder.”
Pegasus Distillerie’s spirits are currently distributed in New York, California and Florida.
Clarke is not the only Games of Thrones actor to dabble in spirits.
Jason Momoa, who played Clarke’s husband on the fantasy drama, launched Meili Vodka last year.
Fellow Game of Thrones star James Cosmo also partnered with Annandale Distillery to create a blended Scotch whisky in 2023.
Meanwhile, Orkney distillery Highland Park collaborated with Gwendoline Christie to create a short film to celebrate its 225th anniversary last year.
