As well as bar takeovers and cocktail weeks, there are more business-focused events for those of you keen to develop your industry knowledge and do some networking.

Eat Local Month at Tamborine Mountain Distillery
What: A series of spirits-related workshops as part of a festival celebrating the Scenic Rim Region
Where: Tamborine Mountain Distillery, Australia
When: Throughout June
Tamborine Mountain Distillery will welcome the public to create their own liqueurs, spirit blends and cocktails. Guests will receive a complimentary drink on arrival, with all equipment and spirit advice provided by the team’s experts. Those blending their own spirit can create gin, vodka, rum, brandy, or Schnapps using Tamborine Mountain’s selection of botanicals, while those in the liqueur class can use the brand’s tinctures and flavours.
The Whisky Event
What: An evening celebrating the artistry of whisky
Where: JW Marriott Grosvenor House London
When: 2 June
More than 600 whiskies will be available to taste at this year’s Whisky Event, as well as a wide range of cocktails from the bar. Confirmed exhibitors include everyone from Johnnie Walker and Talisker to Penderyn and Stauning, with some distilleries creating exclusive bottlings for the event.
As well as whisky tasting, guests can enjoy a range of masterclasses and a fully kosher buffet.
Medium Cool x Nomad
What: A taste of Miami in London
Where: Nomad London
When: 6-7 June
Cocktail lounge Medium Cool is packing up its shakers and heading over the Atlantic for two nights of live jazz, DJs and world-class cocktails. The event will be a reunion for Nomad’s bar director Liana Oster and Medium Cool co-founder Naren Young, who previously worked together at New York’s Dante.
Moebius Sunday Lyan
What: One of Milan’s best bars heads to one of London’s
Where: Lyaness, Sea Containers London
When: 9 June
This takeover is sponsored by Fever-Tree and Campari Rare Portfolio and will allow guests to sample some of the ever-evolving cocktails from Moebius in Milan overlooking the Thames. Moebius describes its drinks as ‘reimagined classics in a non-conventional way, which take inspiration from Italian culture, culinary and produce’.
Lecce Cocktail Week
What: A showcase of southern Italy’s cocktail scene
Where: Across Lecce, Italy
When: 10-16 June
Following a hugely successful inaugural event that saw it win the Best Event prize at the SB Awards 2023, Lecce Cocktail Week (LCW) is back with a lot to live up to. This year’s event will see 38 bars introduce a LCW menu, while the city will welcome the likes of Nipperkin from London and The Clumsies from Athens for guest shifts. The week culminates with a beach party on Saturday 15th, followed by a closing party on Sunday 16th, which will see seven of Lecce’s best bars team up.
Double Chicken Please partners with Sips
What: The world’s two best bars come together
Where: Double Chicken Please, New York City
When: 11 June
Sips Barcelona was number one in 2023’s World’s 50 Best Bars, while Double Chicken Please in New York came second. There’s little doubt that this one-night event featuring the teams from both bars will impress – the evening promises ‘design-centric drinks’ and a ‘one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity and community’.
Bar Convent Brooklyn
What: One of the biggest on-trade events in the US
Where: Industry City, Brooklyn, New York
When: 11-12 June
Back for a sixth edition, Bar Convent Brooklyn will introduce “fresh concepts, immersive experiences and unparalleled opportunities” for this year’s show. More than 50 education sessions will cover topics including shochu production and history, the non-alcoholic boom and business plan 101s.
Taste of London
What: A food and drink extravaganza in central London
Where: Regent’s Park, London
When: 12-16 June
Taste of London is better known for its focus on chefs, restaurants and delicious food, but its spirits partners are stepping up their game to be a main draw this year. Metaxa has teamed up with Greek food brand Odysea for an interactive cocktail tasting paired with mezze, while the Botanist Gin will be serving up an array of signature cocktails including a Rhubarb Spritz and an Islay Paloma. Jack Daniel’s will be offering up some TikTok-tastic cocktails, while El Jimador will be bringing DJs – and Tequila.
Vinexpo America
What: A trade fair for the wine and spirits industry
Where: Jacob K Javits Convention Center, New York
When: 24-25 June
More than 3,000 industry visitors and 400 exhibitors are expected to attend this year’s Vinexpo event in New York, with confirmed attendees including liqueur brand Choya and ready-to-drink producer Endless West. This year’s event will also be co-located with the Summer Fancy Food Show, organised by the Specialty Food Association – in case you need a snack with your spirits sampling.
Pride takeover at Silverleaf
What: Silverleaf to host a Pride party with LGBTQIA+ bartenders
Where: Silverleaf, London
When: 28 June
Pride Month will draw to a close with an evening of queer celebration at Silverleaf, the bar at the Pan Pacific London hotel. Guest bartenders for the night are: La’mel Clarke of Seed Library, London; Tess Posthumus of Amsterdam’s Flying Dutchmen; and Evie Malley of Leeds’ Below Stairs. Plus, there will be entertainment from Drag King collective Häus of Dons, and a portion of the profits will be donated to Equal Measures and Not A Phase.
