Fort Hamilton adds single barrel Bourbon

Fort Hamilton Distillery, which is located in Brooklyn’s Industry City, has released a single barrel Bourbon.
The whiskey was made entirely from grains sourced from New York’s Hudson Valley region, and completes Fort Hamilton’s core range of offerings.
“This is a classic Bourbon for Bourbon lovers with a nod to our home of New York,” Alex Clark, who co-founded Fort Hamilton alongside his wife Amy Grindeland said. “[It] is built for the Bourbon enthusiast and is true to our New York roots.”
Fort Hamilton Single Barrel Bourbon is made from a mash of 85% corn, 10% rye, and 5% malted barley. It is aged for more than four years in 53-gallon, char #3 American white oak barrels, bottled at 47.5% ABV, and priced at RRP US$55.
In addition to the new Bourbon, Fort Hamilton has released batch 14 of its Single Barrel Rye, which is likewise made from 100% New York-grown grains. This whiskey is aged for five years in 30-gallon, char #3 American white oak barrels, bottled at 45% ABV, and priced at US$55. It is made from a mash of 90% rye and 10% malted barley. Both whiskeys are non-chill-filtered and certified kosher.
Fort Hamilton started producing whiskey in 2016 and opened its tasting room in 2021. Clark has a background in bartending and serves as master distiller, while Grindeland manages the distillery bar and tasting room.
Beyond the single barrel Bourbon and rye, the distillery offers double barrel Bourbon and rye, cask strength rye, gin, and vodka, as well as a series of limited edition cask-finished whiskies.
The global Bourbon category is predicted to grow by 5% between 2022 and 2031, and could be worth US$12.8 billion by 2031, according to research published last year.
