Fee Brothers celebrates 160th anniversary

Family-owned bitters maker Fee Brothers is celebrating its 160th anniversary with the help of its UK distributor, Mangrove Global.

Fee Brothers has been around since 1864

The Fee family, pioneers in the industry, established the company in 1864 by transferring their delicatessen into a liquor store in Rochester, New York.

After 160 years, the brand is run in the fifth generation by brothers Jon and Benn Spacher.

The company specialises in crafting innovative bitters that ‘provide a spice rack to help bartenders and mixologists achieve balance in cocktails’.

“Our journey has been one of passion, dedication, and a commitment to delivering the finest ingredients to enhance the art of cocktail making,” said Jon. “We owe our success to the generations before us and the loyal customers who have made Fee Brothers a part of their craft.”

As one of the oldest producers of fine cocktail bitters, the brand was one of the few bitters available until the 1990s.

The brand currently offers 22 different flavours of bitters.

Continuing its tradition of innovation, the newest edition to the range, Fee Foam, is a non-dairy, vegan-friendly alternative to egg white in cocktails.

The company also produces a range of cordials, cocktail mixers and botanical waters.

Fee Brothers is distributed in the UK by Mangrove Global, which has also recently added Almave, an alcohol-free agave ‘spirit’, and Limoncello di Capri Cream to its portfolio.
