Mixer producer Franklin & Sons, part of Global Brands, has launched an initiative to empower UK hospitality professionals.

Franklin & Sons The Mix
Ten UK bartenders will help lead the programme

The brand has brought together 10 bartenders from the UK to create a team called ‘The Mix’.

The participating bartenders are:

  • Panos Ntalianis, Gŏng Bar, Shangri-La at The Shard, London
  • Courtney Francis, Couch Stirchley, Birmingham
  • Tom Austin, The Milk Thistle, Bristol
  • Chloe Yeung, Panda & Sons, Edinburgh
  • Davide Leanza, Los Mochis City, London
  • Reah Owen, Project Halcyon Distillery, Manchester
  • Ewan Grieve, Lab 22, Cardiff
  • Kane Gordon, Tabula Rasa, Leeds
  • Elyse Von Ruinn, Charlie Brown’s, Glasgow
  • David Stanley, Speak in Code, Manchester

The second stage of the initiative, ‘Crafted Conversations’, will be a series of events open to all on-trade professionals, hosted in three venues across the UK.

The sessions will focus on career and skill development and will take place in Manchester on 9 April, Edinburgh on 25 June and London on 13 August.

Manchester’s event will focus on ‘technique’, Edinburgh’s on ‘potential’ and London’s on ‘advocacy’.

The Franklin & Sons team will also host an immersive brand session on the science of carbonation and its effect on flavour, aroma and quality.

Senior brand manager James Stimson said: “Bartender advocacy has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years.

“Hospitality professionals are now on a quest for meaningful experiences that enrich their lives, seeking partnerships with brands that not only elevate their careers but also foster a sense of belonging within this vibrant community.

“At Franklin & Sons, creating a sense of connection is at the forefront of everything we do and we’re wholeheartedly committed to advancing bartender advocacy by encouraging conversation with and shining the spotlight on the talent of tomorrow.

“We’re excited to be unveiling such an innovative initiative and look forward to contributing to our ambassadors’ unique talents, helping to empower them to thrive in an ever-evolving industry.”
