Maya’s launches non-alcoholic RTDs
London’s non-alcoholic cocktail pop-up Maya’s has created a line of 0% ABV ready-to-drink (RTD) serves.
The range features three of the brand’s best-selling cocktails: an Old Fashioned, a dark rum Espresso Martini and a Picante.
Maya’s launched as a Dry January pop-up last year.
“The response from the pop-up was overwhelming, and it quickly became clear this was the natural next step,” said Mariam Mahmud, Maya’s founder.
“We knew the demand for convincing non-alcoholic cocktails was there, but the bar proved that we were able to address it. It was then a question of assessing the scale of the demand and we realised it went well beyond what one physical bar could hope to meet.
“The teetotal market has historically been a captive audience, underserved by the drinks industry. But the noticeable shift in consumer demand for premium non-alcoholic options is being driven by those who do still drink; their expectations are inherently higher, and people are that much harder to convince when they’re choosing to alternate non-alcoholic options with their alcoholic favourites.”
The new collection of bottled cocktails has been created in partnership with Kahol, an independent London-based non-alcoholic ‘spirits’ brand.
Each 125ml contains a single serving of cocktail and has an RRP of £5 (US$6).
“Our cocktails are designed to replicate the real thing, so we needed to start with non-alcoholic spirits that were also genuinely convincing,” added Mahmud. “The bar wouldn’t have been possible without the mind-bending spirits Kahol have created, and we’re incredibly proud to continue the partnership through to these RTDs.”
The line will be available to purchase from 7 December from Maya’s website, with a launch in the on-trade to follow next year.
