Dram Bar opens in London
Drinks industry experts Chris Tanner, Martyn ‘Simo’ Simpson and Jack Wallis have opened a bar in London’s Soho.
Dram Bar is located in a three-storey, 17th-century building in Denmark Street and features two bars, a whisky shop, an outdoor terrace and a private pool room with a ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail vending machine.
Tanner and Simo previously worked at Silverleaf, another London bar, with all three co-founders having worked at whisky specialist Milroy’s.
Simo left Milroy’s earlier this year, stating a difference in vision.
The ground floor of Dram Bar hosts one bar and the whisky shop, with the day-to-night space offering coffee and food in the morning before transitioning into a bar in the evening.
Simo has curated a range of world whiskies for the bar, with ‘hopes of modernising the way people view the category’.
The terrace will serve the same menu as the internal bar, as well as a selection of Spritzes and cocktails.
A small indoor mews area is available for larger groups and private events.
Dram’s basement cocktail bar has a drinks offering ‘centred around seasonality and exploration’.
A multi-purpose room in the basement will serve as a lab for research and cocktail development by the Dram Bar team. In the evenings, the room can be used as a 12-seater space.
