Highclere Castle Gin expands to Connecticut
By Lauren BowesGin producer Highclere Castle Spirits has partnered with Breakthru Beverage Group’s Connecticut division on a state-wide distribution deal.

Adam von Gootkin, Highclere Castle Spirits’ co-founder and CEO, launched the English gin brand in 2019 with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.
Von Gootkin previously launched Onyx Moonshine, one of Connecticut’s first distilleries to open since Prohibition.
Connecticut Distributors Inc, an affiliate of Breakthru Beverage Group, has more than 4,000 on- and off-trade accounts, making it the largest wine and spirits wholesaler in Connecticut.
Highclere Castle Gin has its managing US headquarters in Connecticut.
“Connecticut holds a special place in my heart as my home state,” said von Gootkin.
“It’s a very important market for this truly Anglo-American brand and partnership. We’re excited to share the exceptional experience of Highclere Castle Gin with all fellow Connecticut residents.”
Highclere Castle Gin is now available in seven countries and 28 US states, with the brand to launch in Canada and China early next year.
Highclere Castle in England is the setting for TV show Downton Abbey. The brand uses botanicals from the estate in its gin, such as oranges from its Victorian orangery.
The producer offers both a London Dry and a Barrel Aged gin.
The gin won Gold in this year’s DB & SB Autumn Blind Tasting, and a Silver medal in The Luxury Masters 2023.
