1800 Tequila teams up with Mike Skinner

Proximo Spirits-owned 1800 Tequila has collaborated with Mike Skinner of The Streets on a limited edition bottle that visually represents the band’s new single.

The launch is the latest in the Tequila brand’s Essential Artists series, which has previously featured bottles designed by hip-hop musician Kojey Radical and artist Daniel Cordas.

The bottle design is inspired by the lyrics of the band’s single, ‘Turn Your Face into The Sun’, incorporating an urban landscape, lighting and shadows. The illustration of a silhouette beside a bus stop is also a nod to the artwork for the band’s 2004 album A Grand Don’t Come for Free.

Skinner said: “1800 Tequila stands behind artists that celebrate its vision in a similar way to which I approached my new album and film. I can’t wait for others to be able to get their hands on my limited edition bottle with 1800, which is a celebration of creativity and independent thinking.”

The Tequila has an ABV of 38% with an RRP of £40 (US$49).

Just 500 bottles will be available, with each bottle featuring its unique number and Skinner’s signature. It can be purchased from Master of Malt, Hard to Find Whisky and House of Spirits.

This summer, 1800 Tequila was named the world’s fastest-growing spirit.
