Professional golfer Brooks Koepka has become the latest sports star to move into Tequila after becoming an investor in Casa Azul.

Koepka, a former US Open victor and this year’s PGA Championship winner, has joined a roster of investors including Travis Kelce of American football team Kansas City Chiefs and American golfer Michelle Wie West.

“We’re passionate about creating amazing Tequila, and we’ve always been inspired by Brooks Koepka and his passion on and off the greens,” said Casa Azul founder Lance Collins. “We share his commitment to excellence and we’re honoured to welcome him into the blue house.”

The Casa Azul brand was launched in August 2020 with a ready-to-drink (RTD) Tequila-based soda range, followed by a range of Tequilas in May 2023 in partnership with Mexican actress Eiza González.

American golfer Koepka added: “Being passionate about something means you’re always evolving and looking for ways to improve. Lance Collins and Casa Azul saw a clear opportunity to create products that taste amazing because they’re crafted the right way. I’m excited to invest in a brand that’s bringing innovation and integrity to Tequila.”

Casa Azul Tequila was crafted from single estate agave, farmed organically and developed by a multi-generational family of distillers and agave farmers.

The Tequila range includes blanco, reposado, and añejo offerings.

Casa Azul Tequila Soda is available in a variety eight-pack, comprising four flavours: Lime Margarita, Strawberry Margarita, Peach Mango, and Watermelon. Single flavour four-packs are also available.

Canned at 5% ABV, Casa Azul Tequila Soda contains 100 calories per can.

Earlier this year, Casa Azul was named one of the top five fastest-growing RTDs by US e-commerce platform Drizly.

Koepka is not the only athlete to dabble in Tequila. In September 2019, former basketball star Michael Jordan partnered with fellow sports entrepreneurs to launch Cincoro Tequila.

Meanwhile, American basketball player Lebron James became an investor in Lobos 1707 Tequila and mezcal in November 2020.
