Canned Bloody Mary debuts in UK
Wales-based Silver Circle Distillery has launched a ready-to-drink (RTD) Bloody Mary cocktail in a soup can.
The Ultimate Bloody Mary is made with the producer’s Black Garlic Vodka, tomato juice, apple caramel, white shoyu, a dash of jalapeño, red pepper hot sauce, and vegan Worcestershire sauce.
The drink is designed to be ready-to-pour from a 400ml ‘tomato soup can’.
Nina Howden, co-founder of Silver Circle Distillery, said: “There’s a million ways to make a Bloody Mary, but we make ours with our own award-winning Black Garlic Vodka for an unctuous, spicy Bloody Mary, full of umami. Each can is made to share and can be opened easily with the ring pull, just like a can of soup. It’s our easy shortcut to the perfect cocktail, every time.”
Clocking in at 7% ABV, the Bloody Mary is recommended served chilled with two ice-filled glasses, and garnished with a celery stick. Each can contains two servings.
The canned cocktail is priced at RRP £10 (US$12.84) per can.
Silver Circle has also created a playlist to accompany the launch, for a ‘lazy brunch the morning after the night before’, called Brunch Culture Playlist.
In 2022, the distillery launched a sustainable gin refill scheme to mark World Refill Day on 16 June.
The scheme offers three new ways for customers to ‘reuse and refill’ its signature Wye Valley Gin following research commissioned by the organisation behind World Refill Day, City to Sea, which suggested that 91% of Welsh consumers would like to see more refill and reuse options available near them.
