Pernod to sell Clan Campbell to Stock Spirits
Stock Spirits has come to an agreement in principle to buy Clan Campbell blended Scotch whisky from Pernod Ricard.
Spirits and liqueur producer Stock Spirits made a firm offer to Pernod Ricard to acquire the brand. The purchase is still subject to consultation with the relevant employee representative bodies.
Alexandre Ricard, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard, said: “Our dynamic and broad-based growth across categories and geographies is strengthened by our active portfolio management strategy.
“Following a successful series of targeted acquisitions, the disposal of Clan Campbell will enable our teams to focus on priority brands.”
Clan Campbell is a leader in the blended 12-year-old Scotch segment in France, Pernod Ricard said. It is also available in markets such as Spain, Luxembourg and Italy.
In recent years, the brand’s portfolio has grown with the addition of Clan Caribbean, a rum-based spirit drink.
Stock Spirits is a Central Europe-based company that is active in more than 50 countries worldwide, including Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Italy.
The firm owns more than 70 brands, including Żołądkowa Vodka, Stock 84 brandy, Limonce limoncello, or Bozkov rum.
Stock Spirits employs more than 1,200 people.
Earlier this month, Pernod Ricard Convivialité Ventures invested in New Zealand-based non-alcoholic cocktail brand AF Drinks.
In other acquisition news, Brown-Forman will exit the vodka category by selling its Finlandia brand to Coca-Cola’s bottling arm for US$220 million.
