Patrón marks Paloma Day with London bars
In celebration of International Paloma Day today (22 May), Patrón has unveiled four London venues offering twists on the cocktail.
Bacardi-owned Patrón is celebrating the Paloma cocktail throughout the summer with private masterclasses with UK brand ambassador Gianluca Canella, a ‘one-off experience’ at One Hundred Shoreditch and a seafood pairing at rooftop venue Seabird.
From the 18-28 May, Patrón-based Palomas will be served on the rooftop of the One Hundred Shoreditch hotel, where guests can enjoy panoramic views while sipping on agave, elderflower and blood orange twists on the serve.
An exclusive tasting evening will also be held on 24 May at One Hundred Shoreditch with Canella, who will pair Palomas with Californian-inspired small plates.
Tickets for the event are priced at £30 (US$37) and include three cocktails and three small plates.
At Irish pub Homeboy in Islington, the team will host a Patrón Paloma fiesta from 18-28 May. Among the specially created serves are the Pink Picante Paloma and Champagne Paloma.
Bethnal Green bar Satan’s Whiskers will also offer twists on the classic serve from 18-28 May, including cocktails The Reposado, The Cherry, and Lilt.
Over the same period, Southwark-based seafood restaurant Seabird will pair frozen Palomas with an oyster paloma granita.
The brand has also provided the recipe to make the Patrón Perfect Paloma at home.
Ingredients:
45ml Patrón Reposado
90ml Fresh grapefruit juice
15ml Agave syrup (1:1)
15ml Freshly squeezed lime juice
30ml Sparkling water
1 pinch of salt
Grapefruit slice for garnish and salt rim (optional)
Method: Combine all ingredients except sparkling water in a shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a sugar and salt-rimmed Collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
The Bacardi-owned brand revealed the UK’s first Patrón Paloma Week in 2021.
