Patrón debuts smoky Tequilas
By Nicola CarruthersBacardi-owned Tequila brand Patrón has released two limited edition expressions, made using agave roasted with mesquite charcoal.

The new Patrón Ahumado Silver and Reposado bottlings are made from agave piñas roasted in small batches with mesquite charcoal for seven days in underground stone pits at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico.
The agave is then crushed through a tahona wheel distillation process.
Ahumado Silver (41% ABV) is recommended served neat or in cocktails like a Margarita, Negroni or Spicy Ahumado Mule.
The 40% ABV reposado is best served neat, over ice or in a cocktail like a Paloma or Old Fashioned.
Ahumado Silver offers a ‘lingering smoky and smooth taste, with natural sweetness, balanced with notes of spices, black pepper and cooked agave’.
Meanwhile, Ahumado Reposado is described as ‘smooth, sweet, smoky and woody with notes of black pepper and hints of vanilla and caramel’.
The new Tequilas will be available in select markets over the coming months. Ahumado Silver is priced at US$69.99, while Ahumado Reposado carries a price tag of US$27.99.
Last week, bartender Mor Koral soared to victory to claim pole position in the Patrón Perfectionists 2023 cocktail competition.
The brand recently unveiled its Ahumado Tequila range.
