Edinburgh Gin extends Experimental Series
Ian MacLeod Distillers-owned Edinburgh Gin has added a Marmalade Sandwich bottling to its Experimental Series.
Designed to push boundaries in taste and flavour innovation, the brand has made two small-batch additions to the series: Marmalade Sandwich and Scandi, both created by master distiller Dave Wilkinson.
He said: “The Experimental Range has given myself and the distillery team the opportunity to get creative and push the boundaries with what can be done with gin.
“We have hand-bottled, labelled and waxed every gin in the series, and we are incredibly excited to share this side of our distillery with Edinburgh Gin fans.”
The Marmalade Sandwich bottling clocks in at 42.6% ABV, and has been created as a nod to Wilkinson’s nostalgic memories of marmalade.
The gin has a focus on the sharp, zesty citrus notes offered by orange marmalade, and the distillation involved an experimentation of botanicals and natural flavours including orange peel, malted barley and butter.
The liquid presents toasted, nutty notes of the malted barley, alongside a creamy mouthfeel and satisfying, ‘bready-like’ finish.
Meanwhile, the Scandi gin rests at a higher 44.4% ABV, with notes of cloves, aniseed and cubeb pepper.
Wilkinson added: “I believe we have some of the most exciting and intriguing flavour options on the market in our range.
“We set out to tell tales of wonder, told through taste every time we craft a new liquid. The use of natural flavours and ingredients mean we can continuously bring interesting new flavours to the market.”

In September 2022, Edinburgh Gin unveiled a limited edition Discovery Pack containing its Classic, Seaside, 1670 and Cannonball expressions.
