Himkok adds to RTD range

Oslo-based cocktail bar and distillery Himkok has expanded its ready-to-drink (RTD) range with the addition of a canned Paloma ‘with a Scandi twist’.

The Oslo Paloma takes influence from the classic Tequila-based cocktail, with the incorporation Himkok’s in-house distilled aquavit.

This addition provides the serve with notes of caraway, adding a depth of spice alongside the bold citrus of the grapefruit.

Himkok’s Oslo Paloma follows on from the success of the bar’s Oslo Mule, which was released in August 2022 with more than 100,000 litres having been produced to date.

The Oslo Mule offers a depth of spice that is complemented by zesty ginger and a subtle herbal note of sage.

It is recommended decanted into a Highball glass over ice.

Furthermore, the RTD range includes a Himkok Whiskey Sour, made with Bourbon and lemon juice.

Himkok’s team, led by head of research and development Paul Voza and bar manager Maroš Dzurus, was inspired by the ingredients of Norway in the production of the RTD range, with each of the serves utilising the bar’s in-house produce.

In our recent European Global Bar Report, Dzurus said he has seen an increase in the use of local products in bars.

The Oslo Paloma is presented at 4.7% ABV, and is now available in more than 493 stores across Norway for RRP 49.99kr (US$4.96).

The 330ml can’s have been designed by acclaimed Norwegian agency Olssøn Barbieri.

In December, Himkok unveiled its latest menu, which celebrates local Scandinavian ingredients. Many of the cocktails are made using in-house components created in the bar’s on-site distillery, including aquavits, gins and distillates.
