Takamaka Rum has plans to grow its presence in Asia

The move into Taiwan is the first part of the brand’s plans to grow its availability across Asia in 2023.

Trois Frères Distillery creates Takamaka Rum in the Seychelles.

Brothers Richard and Bernard d’Offay founded Takamaka almost 20 years ago.

Last year, the brand brought its St André Series to the UK. The range comprised four blended rums: Extra Noir, Grankaz, Pti Lakaz and Zepis Kreol.

Bring the Rocks was established in 2014 and is based in Taiwan. The boutique distributor and importer focuses on alcoholic beverages, and plans to extend its presence across Asia throughout the year.

In 2022, Takamaka partnered with three distributors to launch in 11 markets across Europe.

La Maison du Whisky was appointed to look after the rum brand in France, while Beverage Hunters took on the brand’s distribution in Spain.

Meanwhile, Slovenia-based Venka Vojo was tasked with distributing Takamaka’s portfolio in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.

Trois Frères Distillery revealed its partnership with sustainable packaging creator Ecospirits in March 2022, bringing the closed-loop spirits distribution system to the Seychelles for the first time.
