Southern Glazer’s e-commerce exceeds $3bn
US distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS) has revealed its e-commerce platform, Proof, has surpassed its US$3 billion revenue milestone.
SGProof.com is SGWS’ business-to-business e-commerce platform, and was launched in 2019.
The platform allows SGWS’ sales team to connect with and assist customers, as well as enabling restaurants, bars and retail stores to search its portfolio of brands and explore new products.
“We are thrilled with the way our sales consultants use Proof to expand relationships with their customers and showcase our world-class portfolio of brands,” said John Wittig, chief commercial officer, Southern Glazer’s.
“We will continue to invest in industry-leading functionality to equip our sales team and enhance the Proof platform as we aim to strengthen the bond between Southern Glazer’s, our customers and suppliers in 2023 and beyond.”
Last year, the platform saw more than 82,000 orders on the site, leading to 61,000 products sold and more than 17 million cases delivered.
Plus, sales consultants were able to generate more than one million proposals through the platform, and 70,000 new points of distribution in 2022.
SGWS attributed the success of the platform to recent technology enhancements adopted by Proof.
These include: a new mobile experience with barcode scanning for easy ordering; ‘smart’ recommendations helping customers with quick alternatives when items are out of stock; and previously purchased and order history features that saves customers time for reordering frequently bought items.
The platform also boasts improved cart features, enhanced search filters, and the ability to request delivery date changes – all of which are features added recently.
In October last year, brandy producer Seven Tails Distillers expanded its presence in the US after gaining a distribution deal with SGWS.
