Samuel Gulliver expands range
By Georgie CollinsEnglish whisky producer Samuel Gulliver & Co has added a PX Sherry Single Cask expression to its portfolio.
Gulliver’s 47 PX Sherry Cask is a single malt English whisky distilled at the St George’s Distillery in Norfolk, and is finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks sourced from Spain.
The PX Sherry Cask expression offers notes of golden raisins and chocolate with a hint of Christmas cake, with aromas of butterscotch, sweet spices and orange zest.
Stuart Gulliver, ninth-generation descendent of the original founder, commented: “Perfect for warming up on a chilly winter’s night, we can’t wait to introduce this exceptional single malt English whisky to our portfolio.”
Bottled at 47% ABV, the whisky has been created without chill-filtration and with natural colour.
The new expression joins the brand’s range, which includes a Gulliver’s 47 Bourbon Cask, Gulliver’s 47 10-Year-Old Quarter Cask, Gulliver’s 47 STR Cask, and the England’s No. 6 Single Malt, which is finished in ex-rum casks and is the official whisky of England Rugby.
Gulliver’s 47 PX Sherry Cask is available for RRP £79 (US$95.90) and will be available through the brand’s online store, as well as via retail specialists.
In November, Samuel Gulliver partnered with Australian swimwear brand Budgy Smuggler to create a collaborative range based on England’s No.6 single malt whisky.
