Applications for the competition are now open until 6 March 2023

The fifth edition of the competition will be rolled out across 11 countries, and will challenge bartenders to create an original, art-inspired aperitivo cocktail using Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto citrus liqueur.

“Art Of Italicus Aperitivo Challenge is a programme which gives me great pride in discovering and meeting, year on year, the new emerging talents in our industry,” commented Giuseppe Gallo, founder and CEO of Italicus.

“The contest is thought of as a creative platform to be used by bartenders to express their creative sensibility, staying connected to the aperitivo culture with the brand.

“Last year’s edition had more than 1,200 entries worldwide, across 12 countries, a result which makes us strive to keep innovating and supporting our bartending community, whilst working together to promote a more sustainable future for the forthcoming generations.”

The winner will be crowned the Italicus bar artist of the year, and will receive an exclusive mentorship from Paradiso Barcelona, which took the number-one spot in The 50 Best Bars 2022 ranking.

During the experience, the winner will be accompanied by Shoshin Art Club, the international bartender’s educational platform, to document the full experience in a video, which will be featured on the website.

Bartenders based in Italy, Spain, the US, the UK, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland can enter.

Those not resident in these 11 countries can apply for the competition through a ‘wild card’ entry, with the opportunity to take part in the global final in Rome at the end of May 2023.

Applications are now open until 6 March 2023 through https://rosolioitalicus.com/the-art-of-italicus/aperitivo-challenge/.

All applicants must upload the recipe and a photo of their creation, alongside measurements, garnishes and glassware to the competition website.

Bartenders are encouraged to test their cocktail with consumers ahead of the competition, and share their serves on social media using the following hashtags: #Italicus, #Rosoliodibergamotto, #Artofitalicus and #AOI2023.

The brand revealed the winner of the 2022 iteration of the competition in June 2022.
