Gravity Drinks unveils Egg Royale

Premium drinks importer Gravity Drinks has revealed an ‘industry first’ alcoholic Easter egg for adults.

Packaged inside a glass egg, the Egg Royale is a rich chocolate cream liqueur made from cocoa and vanilla, and blended with real cream.

Positioned as ‘a unique Easter gift for adults’, the glass egg is presented in an Art Deco-style box with a foil-printed handle.

“Easter is massive and growing at the premium end of the market,” commented Jim Denoon, director at Gravity Drinks. “80 million boxed easter eggs are made and sold every year in the UK and the luxury, more adult chocolate eggs, are getting more elaborate and expensive.  We see ours as a natural progression to that – offering consumers the ultimate adult Easter indulgence.”

Produced by the team behind the ‘cult’ Christmas Globe Gin Liqueur, and the Gold medal-winning Sixpence Pud Gin Liqueur, the Egg Royale is predicted to become another seasonal favourite.

“Seasonal items have worked well for us, and we recognise that retail buyers are always looking for the next innovation in drinks,” Denoon continued. “This has become a key part of our business and we strive to bring new and exciting ideas to them – ahead of the competition.”

“Everything we do has a point of difference, and Egg Royale is no exception. It’s taken over two years to develop, and the product is entirely bespoke.

“We’ve used the best in class throughout; developing the glass bottle with Allied Glass UK, the closure with a UK engineering firm, and our cream liqueur comes from Holland – where the cows are at their happiest.

“We’re delighted with the result and pleased to be launching an industry first to the UK market.”

The 15% ABV liqueur is recommended served over ice, in a cocktail, or used to add a ‘boozy kick’ to an Easter chocolate cake.

Each 700ml egg-shaped bottle is priced at RRP £29.99 (US$37).

The Egg Royale will be available to purchase from Harvey Nichols, The Whisky Exchange, and Amazon from February.
