The Mojito and Sex on the Beach were voted second and third most popular cocktails, respectively, to make at Christmas.
The Pornstar Martini was found to be the most popular cocktail among Gen Z, with one in 10 opting for the passionfruit-based cocktail. It was also found that 23% of 18-24 year-olds prefer to drink vodka at Christmas.
The data also showed that gin is the most popular spirit to be gifted at Christmas, with 28% of those asked saying they had received the juniper-based spirit as a gift.
Vodka (16%) and rum (15%) followed as the most common spirits given as presents.
In the US, the Margarita took the top spot as the nation’s favourite cocktail for 2022.

Gen Z was also found to be the highest-spending demographic when participating in nights out over the festive period.
The average total spend on nights out by 18-24-year-olds was found to be £162.40 (US$197.61) per person, in comparison to £99.42 (US$121) for 25-34-year-olds, £112.56 (US$136.97) for 25-44-year-olds, £100.80 (US$122.66) for 45-54 year olds, and £52.50 (US$63.88) for the over 55-year-olds.

The research also showed that nearly a third of millennials have purchased bar or cocktail equipment in the run-up to Christmas, with the view of entertaining at home.
In a bid to save money, 27% of those surveyed said they would be making a conscious effort to go out less across the holidays, with a quarter saying they won’t be going out at all this Christmas to restrict spending.
