Negroni Sbagliato searches jump 501%
The search count for a Negroni Sbagliato cocktail has jumped by 501% in the past week following its mention in a viral Tik Tok.
An interview between HBO series House of Dragons actors Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, who play Princess Rhaenyra and Alicent Hightower, went viral on Tik Tok recently, with the two discussing their favourite orders in a bar.
D’Arcy revealed they opt for “a Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it”, while co-star Cooke agreed.
In the last 30 days, Google searches for the Negroni Sbagliato have reached 60,000.
Tessa Hughes, global customer experience manager at NIO Cocktails, commented: “We can certainly see the power of Tik Tok in influencing consumer trends.
“Social media is a great way to spark intrigue and creativity around new food and drink combinations, allowing people to test and try flavour combinations that they perhaps usually wouldn’t.”
The Negroni Sbagliato comprises Campari and sweet vermouth, but swaps out the traditional ingredient of gin for Prosecco.
Hughes added: “D’Arcy’s particular drink of choice offers a twist on the Italian classic, and replaces the gin with Prosecco for a slightly sweeter, vibrant cocktail.”
Negroni Week was rescheduled in the UK by Campari following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
