Sollasa partners with Double Dutch

Craft aperitif brand Sollasa has collaborated with Double Dutch Drinks to launch a range of ready-to-drink (RTD) Sollasa and tonics.

The limited edition RTD, launched in celebration of Sollasa’s first birthday, combines Sollasa, a grain-spirit blend of lime, lychee and orange zest, with Double Dutch Skinny Tonic Water.

Brothers-in-law Vishal and Sajag Patel first developed Sollasa to address the lack of authentic drinks to accompany Indian cuisine.

The spirit’s development process took a ‘food-first’ approach, and the duo worked with food scientists, leading chefs, restaurant groups and mixologists to craft the drink that ‘perfectly partners’ Indian food.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Sollasa & Tonic in the convenience of an RTD. It’s our customers’ favourite Sollasa cocktail, with many opting for it as a refreshing alternative to a G&T,” commented Sajag Patel. “We’re really looking forward to sharing it at events like Pub in the Park, as well as via our website.”

Raissa de Haas, co-founder of Double Dutch Drinks, added: “Sollasa is a fantastic spirit that we are super excited by, so we are delighted to be partnering with them for this RTD with our delicious Skinny Tonic Water.

“Combining our Skinny Tonic Water, with its hints of grapefruit and juniper berry, with Sollasa makes for one deliciously refreshing cocktail.”

Since launch, the aperitif brand has secured listings at Michelin-starred restaurants Gymkhana and Trishna, as well as Kricket and Atul Kochar’s Masalchi.

“We are delighted with the progress we have made in year one, but this is just the beginning,” said Vishal Patel. “Listings in some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK is validation of the quality of our product and consumers’ desire for a better alternative to beer and wine to accompany Indian food.”

“Year two is all about increasing the availability of Sollasa nationwide and building our brand awareness. The RTD partnership with Double Dutch Drinks is a great way to get people enjoying the signature serve of our product.”

The 330ml cans are each presented at 6% ABV.

They are sold at an RRP of £12 (US$13.61) per pack of four on www.sollasadrinks.com.
