Simone Caporale creates training programme

International drinks industry figures Luca Missaglia and Simone Caporale have launched The Art of Shaking (TAOS), an independent global platform that offers innovative digital resources to the bartending community.

The Art of Shaking is launching with three initial courses

TAOS is a paid-for platform which provides a selection of innovative digital courses designed to elevate the skills of the professional bartender and inspire its users to ‘think outside the bar’.

It claims to be the first bartender-led subscription training programme that is completely independent and not sponsored by any brands.

The platform offers dedicated online resources and in-depth training tools for ‘top-level’ bartenders.

TAOS is launching with three initial courses, covering cocktail development, cocktail menu creation and ‘ultimate’ bar techniques, with more to be added throughout the year.

The courses seek to inspire its users to explore vision, inspiration and passion in a bid to elevate their own offerings.

Each video lesson is presented by Simone Caporale, filmed in his award-winning bar Sips in Barcelona.

Throughout the lessons, Caporale showcases techniques, inspiration and his method for drinks development.

Videos are in English, with subtitles available in English and Italian.

Subscribers can choose between two subscription options: The Premium and All Inclusive

The Premium option is priced at £19.99 per month (US$24.40) and includes the Cocktail Menu and Bar Techniques courses, comprising 21 video lessons which lasts a total of three hours and 57 minutes, while the All Inclusive option is priced at £29.99 (US$36.75) per month and includes all three courses, consisting of 28 video lessons lasting a total of five hours and 40 minutes.

All membership plans have a 12-month duration, billed annually, and are laptop, tablet and smartphone-friendly.

Founders Missaglia and Caporale previously worked together to launch Cocktail Concierge, a brand-building agency focusing on craft spirits brands.

Caporale’s previous projects include the launch of P(our) Symposium, a not-for-profit organisation with a focus on educating up-and-coming peers within the drinks industry; and the creation of Muyu, a range of modern liqueurs with Alex Kratena and Monica Berg.
