Cornish gin brand Tarquin’s has added a pink expression to its portfolio, made with 14 botanicals.

Tarquin’s Pink Dry Gin was created by master distiller Tarquin Leadbetter. Botanicals used include peeled pink lemons, pink grapefruit and pink peppercorns.

Bottled at 42% ABV, tasting notes include aromas of juniper, grapefruit and pepper, leading to red fruits, a ‘natural’ sweetness and ‘sophisticated’ softness on the palate.

Leadbetter, who founded the brand in 2012, said: “At Tarquin’s we’re always looking to try new things and test new products – we’re incredibly proud of our award-winning dry gins but love to experiment and innovate on taste.

“I’ve always been passionate about the distilling process and the endless possibilities it creates. The new pink gin is a carefully crafted balance between our traditional dry gins and more modern fruit-led gins, I love it in a simple mix with light tonic and a slice of lemon.”

Tarquin’s Pink Dry Gin will be available to purchase from select retailers and the brand’s website from 9 June. It will also be available from Tarquin’s shops in Padstow, St Ives and Fowey in Cornwall, UK, priced at RRP £36 (US$45) per bottle.

Earlier this year, Gordon’s Pink, produced by Diageo, released an alcohol-free alternative of the same colour.
