Monkey 47 teams up with A Bathing Ape
Gin brand Monkey 47 is collaborating with streetwear brand A Bathing Ape (Bape) to launch a limited edition bottle and capsule collection.
Pernod-Ricard owned Monkey 47’s ‘wunderbar’ jungle print has been fused with luxury Japanese brand A Bathing Ape’s (Bape) camouflage design to create a bottle design and capsule collection.
Alexander Stein, founder of the gin brand, commented: “Innovation and collaboration is at the very heart of both brands, and for Monkey 47 experimentation with new flavours, aromas and partners is part of our DNA.
“As a hand-crafted gin, we know how important it is for the end product to be a labour of love, and we’re hugely excited to be bringing our expertise from the world of gin to fashion.”
The Bape X Monkey 47 design depicts a technicolour jungle, and has been used for creating the five products available from the partnership, all of which have been rolled out on a limited basi. These include: a newly-designed Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin; a hoodie; a T-shirt; a Hawaiian shirt; and a skateboard.
The Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin x Bape is limited to 500 bottles in the UK, and priced at £56.99 (US$71.72).
