La Adelita Tequila marks Women’s History Month
In honour of the women who fought in the 1919 Mexican Revolution, La Adelita Tequila has pledged grant money to support female ambassadors.
La Adelita will increase its grant contributions to support the professional development of La Adelita Army members.
The La Adelita Army is a brand ambassador programme that works to empower female Tequila enthusiasts and hospitality professionals, who embody ‘strength, power and bravery’.
The Tequila brand is expanding its programmes in honour of Women’s History Month this March.
Furthermore, the brand will donate a portion of proceeds from each bottle of Tequila sold to charity.
Chris Radomski, brand founder, said: “La Adelita Tequila is founded on the artisanal legacy and commitment that goes into producing every bottle we make.
“We battle elements every day to farm our estate-grown agave at some of the highest elevations in Jalisco. The statue in our village square commemorates the sacrifices made by Las Adelitas, and in particular, the amazing women of our region who fought to preserve their community in Capilla de Guadalupe.
“We’re honoured to shine a light on women who share our passion for amazing Tequila and making the world a better place.”
La Adelita Tequila is a single-estate Tequila made entirely from Blue Weber agave, grown in the Jalisco Highlands.
The brand’s history dates back to 1885, when the family of Don Antonio Faustino de Aceves y Casillas built the town of Hacienda La Capilla near the Cerro Gordo mountains.
Last month, Tequila brand Hornitos pledged US$135,000 to support non-profit organisation Glaad, the world’s biggest LGBTQ+ media advocacy organisation.
