Tropical Distillers will open Miami’s only distillery in December

Located in the Allapattah neighbourhood, the distillery will produce Tropical Distillers’ JF Haden’s Craft Liqueurs.

The company’s portfolio includes JF Haden’s Mango Liqueur, which launched in January 2020, and the most recent flavour, JF Haden’s Citrus Liqueur.

The distillery is a joint venture between Tropical Distillers’ original brand partner and CEO Buzzy Sklar; new brand partners Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, former NFL professionals; and luxury realtor Kim Rodstein.

Sklar said: “With the recent growth and buzz surrounding Miami as a new business hub, and my 30-plus years of experience in the hospitality industry, we are very excited about the potential success and feel the timing is perfect to be opening up the only distillery in the city of Miami.”

The site will span 8,000 square feet, and will include a fully automated distillery with an in-house cannery, bar and tasting room. There will also be a gift shop selling branded merchandise and JF Haden’s Craft Liqueurs.

One-hour tastings and tours will be available to visitors. There are also plans to hold live music nights at the distillery, showcasing local musicians.

In other distillery news, earlier this week planning permission was granted to build a new grain distillery in Scotland – the country’s first in a decade.
