Jameson unveils orange-flavoured spirit drink

Irish Distillers has launched Jameson Orange, a whiskey spirit drink inspired by the Old Fashioned cocktail.

Jameson Orange can be purchased in the UK for an RRP of £23.95 (US$33.22)

The new flavoured Irish whiskey contains ‘natural’ orange flavouring, a nod to the classic serve of whiskey, sugar, Angostura bitters and orange peel.

Brendan Buckley, international marketing director at Pernod Ricard-owned Irish Distillers, said: “The concept behind Jameson Orange was to create a product which would appeal to a growing audience of flavoured spirits fans, that draws on the quality and integrity of our award-winning triple distilled Irish whiskey.

“Like Jameson Cold Brew and the forthcoming Jameson Lime & Ginger, Jameson Orange’s flavours are inspired by a classic whiskey cocktail, and we’re confident that this focus on taste and quality will appeal to a broad audience of whiskey fans, bartenders, and curious spirit drinkers.”

The whiskey will roll out on a limited basis in the UK this month, and in the US in 2022. It will be released in Russian markets in November 2021, along with Jameson Lime & Ginger.

The expression presents zesty orange peel and citrus notes on the nose; spicy, nutty and sweet vanilla notes on the palate; and a sweet orange finish.

“Taste is at the heart of every sip of Jameson produced,” said Kevin O’Gorman, master distiller at Irish Distillers.

“Triple-distilled whiskey like ours involves a carefully crafted process, perfected over hundreds of years. This innovation builds on that craft and we are incredibly proud to share this exceptionally well balanced and intensely zesty creation with new and existing whiskey fans looking to explore and experiment.”

The 30% ABV bottling is recommended served over ice with lemonade, and garnished with a wedge of orange.

Jameson Orange is now available to purchase in the UK for an RRP of £23.95 (US$33.22).
