Patrón Perfectionists now open for entries
The Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition is officially open for entries, offering a new virtual format for 2021/2022 to safely elevate the talents of bartenders worldwide.
Bartenders from 20 countries are challenged to invited to submit a cocktail recipe that reflects their journey as they strive to perfect their craft.
Each drink should be formulated from a simplified list of ingredients that consumers can easily access and replicate across the world – particularly with the swift rise of at-home cocktail making. Recipes should use a maximum of eight ingredients.
For the first time in the competition’s seven-year history, consumers will also play an important role in the competition. Patrón fans will be asked to vote on a shortlist of 30 cocktails, which will be accessible via the Patrón Perfectionists online portal at www.patronperfectionists.com.
In the national finals, 10 bartenders from each country will go head-to-head, judged by a panel of four expert judges. The national finals will be broadcast globally, creating yet another opportunity to showcase bartenders and engage with consumers.
The winners from each heat will travel to Mexico in January 2022 to compete in person with their fellow Perfectionist finalists at Hacienda Patrón.
Matthew Sykes, senior director, global marketing for Patrón and founder of the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition, said: “The Patrón Perfectionists has brought together a community of creative and passionate bartenders who continue to push the boundaries of mixology and demonstrate the credentials of artisanal Tequila to consumers.
“For 2022, we have envisioned a new format that will enable bartenders to express their talent and share it with the public globally. Over the past year, digital platforms have become more important than ever, having allowed the trade to keep their work forefront of consumers’ minds and inspire drinkers to raise their cocktail game at home.
“We cannot wait to roll out the new competition format and showcase brilliant bartenders and their creations as they join our familia Patrón.”
