Kentucky Peerless enters UK market

US-based Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company has launched two rye whiskeys in the UK.

Peerless Kentucky Small Batch Rye Whiskey is bottled at 55% ABV

The Louisville-based distiller has launched its Small Batch Rye (55% ABV) and Single Barrel Rye (55.25% ABV) bottlings in the market.

Nathan Dawes, owner of N10 Bourbons, said: “N10 Bourbons are delighted to offer this exceptional example of Kentucky rye to the UK market.

“The success of Kentucky Peerless is the product of using innovative practices to deliver unparalleled quality and this stratospheric level of quality has seriously impressed us.”

Kentucky Peerless’ production process occurs under one roof with its grains milled, cooked, fermented, double distilled and barrelled as Bourbon and rye.

Small Batch Rye provides notes of toasted oak, citrus zest, rye pepper, and botanicals.

Single Barrel Rye is said to ‘deviate from the consistency of batched product’, and offers ‘unique flavour profiles’.

Master distiller Caleb Kilburn added: “At Peerless we utilise sweet mash and temperature regulated fermentation to maximise the purity of mash.

“This cleaner charge allows our stills to gather substantial amounts of flavour in areas of the wheel that are typically squandered due to a sub-par mash.

“The robust distillate coupled with a low barrel entry proof and a barrel strength product ensures a finished product that is packed with flavour.”

Peerless Kentucky Single Barrel Rye Whiskey and Peerless Kentucky Small Batch Rye Whiskey will be available from Native Spirits, Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange.

The expressions are priced at RRP £80 (US$111) per 700ml.
