Kah Tequila eyes global expansion in 2021
Amber Beverage Group is aiming to expand the international footprint of Kah Tequila this year, starting in China.
The brand is set to expand its footprint in Canada, Russia, duty free and a number of key markets during 2021.
The ‘large-scale’ global expansion plan for 2021 follows the ‘successful’ launch of Kah Tequila’s new bottle design last year.
Kah Tequila will become a key focus for Amber Beverage Group’s core China distributor, China Bev.
Evija Sparāne, Kah Tequila’s global brand director, said: “Kah has all the prerequisites to succeed in China – its authentic origin and brand story, as well as being a globally appreciated Tequila, are elements Chinese customers value highly.
“However, having a great brand is not enough. What is equally important is finding the right distribution partner who shares the same vision, passion and level of ambitions for the brand as we do.
“We were extremely pleased to find this partnering with China Bev. Their experience, dedication and willingness to succeed will play a major role in Kah becoming a leading super-premium Tequila in China.”
Jay Zhang, CEO of China Bev, added: “We have had positive signals from the market with our first shipments and look forward to growing Kah into a market leader over the next few years.”
In 2020, Kah Tequila entered Canada through a partnership with White Claw owner Mark Anthony Brands.
The brand’s complete portfolio – blanco, reposado and añejo – will launch in Canada ahead of this year’s Cinco De Mayo (5 May). The Kah range will be available through the Alacanna retail store network.
In Russia, the brand witnessed ‘extensive growth’ over the past year after partnering with distributor Altair. In 2020, shipments increased ‘exponentially’ when compared to 2019 figures.
Kah Tequila is also expanding its presence through existing duty free partners, including Cavo Luigi and B&S Paul Global.
In addition, the brand witnessed increased sales through Heinemann and duty free shop at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport.
The Tequila will also be available to consumers on MSC Cruises’ new ship, MSC Virtuosa, this summer.
Furthermore, Amber Beverage Group is currently in ‘extensive discussions’ over the launch of Kah in a number of new markets.
The firm is planning to boost the brand’s distribution across the Mediterranean region and the Middle East, including areas such as Turkey, Cyprus, and Dubai, as well as Spain and India.
In April 2020, Amber Beverage Group brought the global distribution and marketing of Kah Tequila in-house.
