High West Whiskey owner Constellation Brands has established a business division for fine wine and craft spirits, and created three new management positions in its leadership team.

Constellation Brands has created a standalone, vertically-integrated fine wine and craft spirits business unit.

To oversee the new business, Constellation will hire an executive leader that will coordinate brand building, commercial, direct-to-consumer shipping and hospitality accountabilities. The role will report to Robert Hanson, executive vice-president and president of wine and spirits at Constellation Brands.

The Svedka vodka owner has also promoted three leaders across its wine and spirits division into three newly-created management roles.

Jaymie Schoenberg has been promoted to the role of SVP, brand management – mainstream and premium brands. Schoenberg joined Constellation in 2008 and previously worked as VP, brand management – core wine and spirits.

The US spirits group has also promoted Chris Millard to the newly created role of SVP, wine growing and distilling. In his new role, Millard will carry out leadership responsibilities across the company’s distilling and viticulture teams, and will report to Sam Glaetzer, SVP, global operations and international sales – wine and spirits.

Finally, Ollie Davidson has been promoted to the role of SVP, production and engineering. This role will lead across both wine and spirits production, as well as all external production and the company’s engineering and capital programmes.

Davidson joined Constellation in 2006 and previously served as VP, global viticulture. In his new role, he will also report to Glaetzer.

Hanson said: “I’d like to congratulate Jaymie, Chris and Ollie on their well-deserved promotions into these business-critical roles and look forward to working with them to accelerate our performance.

“Their respective areas of expertise and strong leadership capabilities will be essential as we enter the next phase of our business transformation.

“Additionally, to support our ambition to be the high-end wine and craft spirits category leader, we will be standing up a world-class fine, luxury and cult wine and craft spirits business unit, filled with the industry’s best talent who will build exceptional brands and businesses that stand the test of time.”
