TFWA Asia Pacific 2021 to take place in Hainan
The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) will hold next year’s Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Hainan, China, for the first time.
The TFWA Asia Pacific show was held in Singapore in 2019
Last month, the TFWA confirmed that the next Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference will be held from 9 to 13 May 2021, combining in-person and virtual events and networking opportunities for delegates.
The show, which is usually held in Singapore, will take place in Sanya, Hainan, in 2021. The TFWA management committee made the decision at a recent meeting.
“Hainan, as a dynamic and fast-evolving part of China and a centre of recovery in our business, is the perfect location for this, the first chance for us to come together once again as an industry,” said TFWA president Alain Maingreaud.
“I’m sure that you will welcome this opportunity as much as I do, as we begin what we hope will be a fresh start for duty free and travel retail.”
The show will be made up of three components: Discovery, which will allow visitors to explore new products and trends; Networking, to allow participants to interact virtually or in person; and Learning, a programme of conferences and workshops.
Further details about the 2021 event will be revealed in due course.
In March, the TFWA cancelled the Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2020 in Singapore following “widespread concern” over the coronavirus outbreak.
