Plantation Rum launches Extrêmes No.4 Collection
Maison Ferrand has revealed its new Plantation Extrêmes No.4 Collection, comprising eight “ultra limited edition” rums.
The Plantation Extrêmes No.4 Collection consists of eight rare bottlings
The new collection is the fourth Plantation Extrême series of bottlings, which have been selected by master blender Alexandre Gabriel. The “much sought after” releases are made up of “only the best barrels” selected by the Plantation team.
The eight rums have been “enhanced” by Plantation’s double ageing process, beginning with maturation in Bourbon casks followed by a second ageing for one year in Ferrand oak casks in France.
Each rum’s design comes with a section of a meter-long panoramic artwork which depicts the sea voyage of rum merchants as they transport barrels from the Caribbean to Europe by sailing ships.
The new rums are priced between €170 and €380 (US$199 to US$445).
Plantation St Lucia 2007 will be available from 4pm today (2 October) from Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange in the UK, priced at RRP £150 (US$194).
