Crystal Head unveils agave-based vodka Onyx
Ghostbusters actor Dan Aykroyd has added an agave-based vodka to his Crystal Head range, called Crystal Head Onyx.
Crystal Head Onyx is made from Blue Weber agave
Crystal Head Onyx is the third vodka in the brand’s portfolio and is made from Blue Weber agave, sourced from a single farm in Mexico.
The expression joins Crystal Head Original, made from Canadian corn, and Crystal Head Aurora, made from English wheat.
Like its stablemates, Crystal Head Onyx is blended with water from Newfoundland, Canada, and filtered through more than 10,000 herkimer diamonds. It is said to have a “clean and semi-sweet” finish.
Aykroyd said: “Creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We love to push boundaries and strive to introduce consumers to cutting edge products that create excitement.
“With Onyx, we wanted to make an innovative liquid, an agave-based vodka, with an equally imaginative bottle to match. Onyx is unlike anything you have tasted before – it drinks like vodka but has the nuances of Blue Weber agave.”
Tasting notes for Crystal Head Onyx include aromas of green grass, white pepper and hints of citrus, leading to a touch of spice, sweetness and agave on the palate.
With an ABV of 40%, Onyx comes in a glossy black, skull-shaped bottle and is priced at RRP US$55 per 750ml bottle.
