Beveland Distillers bottles Maior Gin
Spanish brandy maker Bodegas Suau, co-owned by Beveland Distillers, has expanded its portfolio with the launch of Maior Gin.
Maior Gin uses native botanicals such as fig leaves, rosemary and Soller orange peel
The distillery, which is located on the Spanish island of Majorca, created Maior Gin using native botanical plants, including fig leaves, rosemary and Soller orange peel.
The new release comes more than 100 years since the launch of Bodega Suau’s first gin product, which was brought out in 1919.
Maior Gin was made by macerating spirit with fig leaves, before undergoing a second distillation with botanicals including juniper, rosemary and orange peel.
The resulting gin is described as having hints of citrus and a “silky texture”.
Bottled at 40% ABV, Maior Gin is available worldwide and carries a recommended retail price between €23 (US$27) and €25 (US$29).
Maior Gin joins Bodegas Suau spirits portfolio, which includes aged brandies and flavoured Suau Orange brandy liqueur.
Last month, brand owner Beveland Distillers appointed Stoller Imports as the importer for Suau brandy in the US.
