Barbary Ballroom reopens

Singapore venue Barbary Coast Ballroom has reopened its doors, welcoming groups of up to five people.

Upon opening, the venue has unveiled an updated cocktail menu, which blends a selection of past favourites from the bar with new concoctions developed during the closure. Drinks include the Tommy Tomate, made with tomato-infused Del Maguey Mezcal Vida, kaffir agave and lime, and The Weird One, a mix of Flor de Caña 12, Makgeolli, strawberry, wheat and oak moss.

The Singapore venue will open until 10.30pm nightly. A selection of food and drinks from Barbary Coast Ballroom is also available for island-wide delivery through the bar’s website.

Jägermeister at Cocktails in the City

To celebrate Cocktails in the City, which kicks off today (11 September), herbal liqueur brand Jägermeister has partnered with four London bartenders to create innovative Jägermeister cocktails.

The German brand has recruited Georgi Radev from Laki Kane, Benji Davies and Colm O’Niell from Little Mercies, and Cressida Lawlor from London Cocktail Club. Each bartender has collaborated with Jägermeister to create cocktails including the Cold Brew Punch made with Jägermeister and Manifest; and the Shaolin Monk, which contains Jägermeister.

The cocktails will be served up at the Jägermeister pitch at Cocktails in the City in London’s Bedford Square Gardens. The event has partnered with The Drinks Trust and will donate profits from additional sales of cocktails to the charity.

Atlas gin experiences

Award-winning cocktail bar Atlas in Singapore this week launched a series of gin experiences to showcase its juniper-based offerings.

Guests at the Singapore bar can participate in The Gin Tower Experience, which offers a tour of the venue’s huge gin selection and a chance to pick a bottle of their choice. Drinkers will then participate in a bartender-led tasting of the gin, and will be served a customised gin and tonic.

The bar will also now offer a Gins of the World tasting flight to showcase the drinking den’s range. Each month, the venue will showcase three gins from across the globe, each exploring the diversity of flavours found in the spirit.

It London reopens

Bar and restaurant It London has reopened its doors this week, offering innovative dishes, creative drinks and live music.

Throughout the day, guests at the venue can enjoy a mix of gourmet Mediterranean cuisine, served up alongside an eclectic drinks menu. The venue’s thirst-quenching cocktail list includes the Improved Twinkle, made using Absolut Elyx, Italicus, St-Germain and Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut.

The venue, located in a former Dover Street art gallery, will be open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Online mezcal tasting

Intrepid drinkers are encouraged to virtually travel to Mexico with an online mezcal tasting.

Hosted by certified guide Dora Loayza, this online mezcal tasting offers drinkers an exploration into the agave-based spirits category and features a chance to sample spirits from El Cortijo.

Running on Sunday (13 September) from 7pm BST, tickets for the virtual workshop can be booked online through Eventbrite.

Negronis at The Coral Room

To celebrate Negroni Week (14-20 September), London bar The Coral Room has partnered with Italian gin brand Seven Hills to create a menu of limited edition Negroni cocktails.

Served up at the bar from 14 September, the collection includes The Red Negroni, made with Primo Negroni apéritif; The White Negroni, which combines Seven Hills gin, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto and Mancino Secco; and The Green Negroni, made with Seven Hills gin, Mancino Bianco and Crème de Menthe.

Negroni Week at Il Pampero

Also celebrating Negroni Week from Monday is Italian restaurant Il Pampero, which will be serving up its Negronis all week.

The venue’s signature Negroni, The Bulldog, is made using hibiscus-infused No.3 Gin, Antica Formula vermouth and Campari.

Located in five-star hotel The Hari, Il Pampero will be participating in the Negroni Week celebrations until 20 September.

Rüya reopens

On Thursday (17 September), London bar and restaurant Rüya will reopen its doors once again.

The Mayfair-based Anatolian restaurant, bar and lounge will open with a new pared back signature cocktail list, created by head of bar Francesco Medici, previously of Mr Fogg’s Residence in Mayfair.

The drinks aim to showcase the flavours of the Anatolian peninsula in Turkey and features serves such as the Ottoman Old Fashioned, with whisky, tobacco, date syrup and orange, and the Nazar Sour, which combines cardamom-infused vodka, rose syrup, pear, blue curaçao and Champagne.

To further celebrate its reopening, Rüya will also be taking part in the extended Eat Out to Help Out scheme throughout September, offering guests 50% off all food and non-alcoholic beverages every Tuesday and Wednesday.
